The Azteca horse breed was created in Mexico in the 1970s by crossbreeding Andalusian, Quarter Horse, and Criollo horses. The goal was to create a breed that had the athleticism and versatility of the Quarter Horse, the beauty and grace of the Andalusian, and the toughness and adaptability of the Criollo.
