Detailed Information

Welcome to Dogs Tasmania (Tasmanian Canine Association Inc (TCA Inc)), the premier organisation overseeing all pure-bred canine activities in the state. Our diverse range of activities includes shows and obedience trials open to all breeds of dogs, as well as retrieving trials and field trials specifically catered to Gundog breeds such as Pointers, Setters, Spaniels, Retrievers, and Utility Gundogs like Weimaraners. Additionally, several obedience clubs affiliated with us conduct Tracking Trials, a relatively new and exciting discipline in the state.

Dogs Tasmania is a proud member body of the Australian National Kennel Council (ANKC) and maintains close ties with kindred organisations in each state and territory. As an associate member of the FCI – Federation Cynologique Internationale, we are part of a global network that includes Europe, South America, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. Our rich history dates back to the first dog show in Australia held in Hobart Town in 1862, culminating in the establishment of the Tasmanian Canine Association Inc in 1995, formerly known as the Kennel Control Council of Tasmania.

  • With forty-four (44) affiliated clubs, including Agricultural Societies, Dogs Tasmania delegates the responsibility of conducting shows and trials throughout the state. Every weekend presents an opportunity for dog enthusiasts to participate in these engaging events, showcasing the beauty and skills of various dog breeds. Whether you are a seasoned breeder, a dedicated owner, or simply a dog lover, Dogs Tasmania welcomes you to join our vibrant community and experience the passion for pure-bred canines in the heart of Tasmania.
