The RSPCA NSW Hunter Veterinary Hospital, established in 2005, is dedicated to providing the highest level of care to shelter animals, injured strays, impounded animals, private clients, and cruelty cases. Located in Rutherford, NSW, the hospital offers a wide range of veterinary services to ensure the well-being of all animals that come through its doors. Partnered with the Tighes Hill Veterinary Hospital, the facility also provides opportunities for foster carers and volunteers to contribute to the welfare of animals in need.

As part of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals; New South Wales (RSPCA NSW), the Hunter Veterinary Hospital is committed to caring for, treating, protecting, and rehoming animals across the state. The hospital is one of three veterinary hospitals operated by RSPCA NSW, alongside five shelters and two rehabilitation centers. In addition to cats and dogs, the hospital assists a variety of animals, including horses, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, goats, and sheep, emphasizing the importance of animal welfare education and community involvement.

RSPCA NSW’s mission extends beyond providing medical care to animals in need; the organization also offers support and guidance to pet owners facing various challenges. With a focus on education, advocacy, and prevention of animal cruelty, RSPCA NSW aims to empower communities to value humane treatment of all animals. Through a dedicated team of inspectors, volunteers, and supporters, the organization works tirelessly to ensure that every animal receives the care and respect they deserve.
