Detailed Information

The Gentle Modern School of Dog Training is a renowned establishment dedicated to teaching both dogs and handlers with kindness and positivity. Utilizing The Gentle Modern Method of Dog Training™, the school aims to make training sessions enjoyable and successful for all participants. Originating in the early 1970s, the method was developed by the late David, a pioneer in dog training in Australia. David’s vision was to revolutionize dog training by emphasizing gentle, modern, and effective techniques, setting the foundation for the school’s ethos.

Today, the school is led by David’s wife, Ruth, on the Bellarine Peninsula, and by Amanda in Melbourne. All instructors at the Gentle Modern School of Dog Training are experienced dog trainers and members of The Kintala Dog Club Association Inc. The school is a registered animal business under State Government legislation, ensuring high standards of care and professionalism. Clients have praised the school for its safe and fun approach to training, with noticeable improvements in their dogs’ behavior and obedience.

Lessons are conducted at two convenient locations: 45 Bawtree Road, Leopold, adjacent to the Bellarine rail trail, and Warringal Parklands, Plymouth Street, Heidelberg. Additionally, home lessons are available for added convenience. The Gentle Modern School of Dog Training is committed to fostering strong relationships between dogs and their owners, guiding them through the journey of training with support, encouragement, and expertise.
