Detailed Information

ACU-PET Veterinary Acupuncture and Rehabilitation Therapies, led by Dr. Esther Horton, is a specialized veterinary practice located in Maleny, in the picturesque Sunshine Coast Hinterland of Queensland. Dr. Horton, a highly experienced small animal veterinarian focusing on dogs and cats, offers a range of integrative therapies including Veterinary Acupuncture, Trigger Point therapy, Pain management, and Rehabilitation Therapies. With a strong belief in the integration of Conventional and Alternative/Complementary Medicine, the clinic aims to provide the best possible outcomes for its furry patients.

Dr. Esther Horton’s journey into Acupuncture and Integrative therapies was inspired by the limitations of Conventional Medicine in addressing chronic conditions like osteoarthritis in animals. Graduating with Honours from the University of Queensland in 1989, Dr. Horton is a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist with the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS) and a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist through the Canine Rehabilitation Institute (CRI). Her commitment to ongoing education is evident through her completion of courses in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Herbal medicine, Food therapy, Myofascial Pain and Trigger Point therapy, Small Animal Pain Management, and Chinese Massage/Tui Na.

As a respected figure in the veterinary community, Dr. Esther Horton has served as the President of the Australian Veterinary Acupuncture Group (AVAG) and represented the group at national veterinary meetings. She collaborates closely with conventional veterinarians, specialists, and other integrative veterinary practitioners to ensure that her patients receive the most appropriate and comprehensive care. ACU-PET Veterinary Acupuncture and Rehabilitation Therapies stands out as a beacon of holistic pet care, prioritizing pain management and overall well-being for beloved companion animals.
