SMART Animal Sanctuary & Rehoming Centre, established in 2003, is a volunteer-run not-for-profit animal welfare charity organization located near Batlow, NSW, Australia. Our mission is to provide a safe haven for animals in need and ensure they find lifelong loving homes where they can thrive. We rescue dogs, cats, and farm animals, often saving them from dire situations such as death row in country pounds.
At SMART, we prioritize the well-being of our animals by conducting thorough vet checks, temperament testing, and providing necessary medical treatments like vaccinations, microchipping, and desexing. Our dedicated team of staff and volunteers work tirelessly to care for these animals, offering them love, shelter, and support until they are ready for adoption. We also offer boarding services to help cover the costs of running the sanctuary.
We rely on the generosity of our supporters, donors, and local businesses to continue our vital work. Without government or RSPCA funding, donations and fundraising efforts are crucial in enabling us to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome up to 500 animals each year. Every animal that comes through our doors is given a chance at a better life, and we are committed to making a difference in the lives of these deserving creatures.
