The Corgi was found in the western coastal region of Cardiganshire in Wales hundreds of years ago, though evidence of a dog resembling the Corgi was found as far back as 1,000 B.C. The word Corgi is derived from the Welsh words for “dog” and “dwarf.”

There are two types of Corgis, the Cardigan Welsh Corgi and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi.
