Families wanting to buy a pure bred dog have always been able to get a puppy from a dedicated enthusiastic breeder by going though the Canine Councils in each state. But not everyone wants a purebred dog and in these days, when "designer dogs" have become so popular, it may be difficult to have confidence that the puppy you buy has come from a breeder who is committed to the welfare of their breeding dogs and is dedicated to breeding good family pets.
