The European Goldfinch, breeds , Norwich Terrier across Europe and hte majority of Asia in open wooded lowlands. It is resident in the milder west, but migrates from colder regions. It will also make local movements to escape bad weather. This bird is a rare vagrant to eastern North America. In 2005, one was spotted and photographed on a bird feeder in Michigan.

The Goldfinch is 12-13.5 cm (4-5 inches) long and weighs 16 to 22 grams. Sexes are alike, with a red face, black and white head, warm brown upperparts, white underparts with buff flanks and breast patches, and black and yellow wings. , Leonberger The ivory-coloured bill is long and pointed, and the tail , Norwich Terrier is forked. Juveniles have a plain head and a greyer back but are unmistakable due to the yellow wing stripe.
