Pet Portraits
Easy Steps to Drawing a Realistic Pet Portrait!
Pet Portraits make a wonderful project for both the amateur and professional artist and although they require a specific skill set, this is something that the serious artist will be able to acquire by regular practice. Pet portraits look good in standard pencil but can equally be effective in pastels and in paints. When drawing pet portraits initially, it does help if the artist has a natural affinity towards animals and nature in general as this definitely can become a labour of love.
One unique aspect with pet portraits, is that there are a variety of subjects available and although the pet in question, may not wish to sit for hours whilst you painstakingly capture their likeness, it is important that you do capture as much of their characteristics as is possible before seriously starting the drawing.
