5 Easy Steps to Drawing your Pets!
A simple drawing of your pet can be easily achieved if you follow some very basic steps through to fulfilment. Drawing your favourite pet can be a very enjoyable and fun project and it can open up lots of new skills sets and opportunities for the discerning artist. To make a good simple drawing of your pet, you need to know your animal very well otherwise it will be difficult to transpose their personality onto paper. Creating a simple drawing means capturing the basic essences of your pet and leaving out those areas which are not relative, this is not as easy as it sounds but sometimes less is more.
1. Because pets do not like to stay still for very long, it may be an idea to take your camera and capture your pet in a variety of poses. Try to capture the poses which you personally feel would be the most appealing to others. Capture your animal from the side as opposed to head on as this will make it easier for you to draw.
2. Do not just rely on your camera for reference; make some quick sketches of your pet too. You do not even need to draw the whole of the animal each time. Focus on key areas such as the eyes, ears, tail. Make some detailed sketches as this will help you to keep your creative hand in.
