Pet wolf spiders are an interesting species to keep if you are looking for something a bit more challenging and exciting than boring garden spiders and the like. Pet wolf spiders are known to have very good eyesight and that helps them in hunting, something that you can observe within the terrarium. Solitary creatures, pet wolf spiders are known to build burrows in the ground and use them as hiding spots while hunting.
There are several types of pet wolf spiders that you can choose from. Depending on their variety, their size can vary a lot so when you pick one, make sure you know how big they will be and what size you can handle.
If you have a female pet wolf spider that is impregnated, then it is quite an interesting sight as you can see her carry her eggs in a sac by attaching the sac to her spinnerets. After the eggs have hatched, you will have an entire family of pet wolf spiders, which of course can also been seen as an added responsibility.
Pet wolf spiders, in the wild, are known to be wanderers who do not build any webs or nests. They are, however, known to build burrows in some cases, which means that their tanks will require a lot of soil to allow them to live naturally. These burrows are normally used to either stash their eggs or as a means of ambushing unsuspecting prey walking by. If you provide enough substrate at the bottom of their tanks, then there is a possibility that you might be able to view this intense process of waiting for their prey and pouncing at the right time.
Pet wolf spiders are not aggressive by nature but constant provocation will lead to aggression as well as bites loaded with venom. Their bites are relatively harmless to humans and pet wolf spiders are known to cause mostly localized pain and discomfort.
