Pet Mice Food

Pet mice food is the most important aspect of having healthy and happy mice in your home. Whether you are a breeder or simply an owner, you need to understand the importance of proper pet mice food in the life of your little companions and address it appropriately. The most important aspect of pet mice food is that it is neither hard to make nor difficult to store without losing any of the vital nutrients that mice need from their daily nourishment.

The best form of pet mice food available in stores is Lab Blocks. They are the most nutritious form of pet mice food and are available in a variety of formulas. They are completely balanced in terms of diet and can be the sole form of food provided to pet mice.

There are numerous other forms of mice feed that are available at all pet stores. These are mainly in the form of a mixture of a number of varieties of nutritional processed food and different types of seeds. These are quite nutritional although there is a tendency for mice to leave out the unwanted bits and only eat the tasty parts. This results in an undernourished mouse that isn’t receiving all the nutrients that it needs.

Most pet owners seem to demonstrate this tendency to feed mice normal human food. The general view is that in the wild, mice live off of what we throw (in most cases). However, in the wild, the average life expectancy of a mouse also drops due to diseases and poor health. Although sturdy creatures; mice tend to deteriorate quite rapidly when affected by infection or disease. This increases the need for appropriate pet mice food whenever possible.

Every now and then, it is quite alright to give your pet mouse a little treat. The treat can be in the form of a piece of bread smeared with peanut butter or simply a piece of cheese. These treats should not be made a permanent fixture and are definitely not any form of replacement for their actual diet. Although your mouse may show greater inclination to eat when in the company of such treats, it is hardly something that should be given frequently to the mouse as it can lead to obesity and lack of nutrition.

Pet mice food needs to cover all nutrients that a mouse requires to grow and remain healthy. Despite processed food promising a lot, it is a known fact that Lab Blocks are the only complete food that you can offer to your pet mouse. If you’d like to see a healthy mouse with an empty bowl at the end of each meal, then ensure that you have the right kind of pet mice food at hand.
